Sheer Sunlight

Photobucket

This is what I wore to work today.  When I was getting ready this morning, I picked up this shirt and I thought I needed to have a black tank top inside, because as you can see, it is see through, which is borderline inappropriate if by any chance I came into work knowing that my breasts are the highlight of my outfit.  But then I tried it with just my nude colour bra and voila, it matched perfectly with my skin tone which disguised the effects the shirt.

The shirt was from Urban Planet for $12.99 of which I was ecstatic to have found, because other retail shops like Zara and Aritzia are selling these very similar shirts for way more than the bargain I got it for.  The necklace was purchased from Forever 21 for $17.00 and I know that Aldo also sells the exact same necklace, but for $20.00.  The skirt was from Dynamite which I think was for $10.00 and my booties are from Zara for $110.00.

Window Shopping - Literally, lol

Photobucket

Club Monaco

Talk about instant inspiration for style!  How many times have we all walked passed our favourite stores, took a single glance at the store manequins' outfits, and completely forgot about the look it had - the very look that is supposed to attract the consumers to go in the store and see what fabulous items they have instored for you.  Well today, I thought "why don't I take pictures of these well thought-out dressed manequins to serve as a style reminder for me?"  And that I did.  So simple yet so useful and makes perfect sense to serve as styling inspirations.

Road Feel

Photobucket

Photobucket

Could you think of a better day to stand in the middle of the road and take advantage of the natural sunlight for your pictures?  Well for me, that day was today.  Luckily, my boyfriend lives in a neighbourhood that is peaceful and safe enough to do what I'm doing, compared to the buzzing City of Toronto where I reside.  In Ajax, the houses are beautiful, the roads are wide and clean, the air is crisp, and although it is quite far from the City life, I would definitely consider moving here when the time comes of starting my own family...but, let's not get ahead of ourselves her, lol.  I am a bonafide City Girl!

I'm wearing a vintage blazer purchased at Value Village for $12.99, white sheer tank from Wal-Mart, skinny jeans from Winners, chain from Aldo and booties from Forever 21.  When I bought this blazer, I also bought 2 more of which I will definitely showcase very soon as one of them is just a fantastic find!  You gotta love second-hand stores!

By the way, people have always asked me where I got my Ray Ban Aviators.  I got these at an Optical Shop back in Santa Clara, California.  I bought these on sale for $80.00.  I have had these for 7 years now and although I have dropped, scratched and sat on these babies countless times, it is still miraculously near-perfect and these are probably, by far, my best investment to date!

Office Lunch

Photobucket

On a sunny Thursday afternoon, my co-worker and I had lunch at Cafe Supreme located outside our building.  This Cafe boasts its best paninis (of which I completely forgot to take pictures of, but I will very soon), bagels, salads, yogurts, muffins, cookies and everything else that is yummy in your tummy.  We usually sit in the building mezzanine, because it is quieter and they have flat screen 42" tvs.  But on this day, we decided to sit out and eat so that we can enjoy the last few days of "summer" that we have had here in Toronto, if that's what you'd call it, lol.  I wore this bow-tie pencil skirt from Forever 21 that I bought for approximately $13.00.  I wonder for how long I can stretch wearing skirts to work without any tights?

One of my fave pics of Ashley Olsen, with some Starbucks, Ray Bans, and Givenchy Nightengale. Her entire outfit is so effortless, chill, and sophisticated...and that, is my kind of style.

Ensembles: Ripped Jeans

This is my take on ripped jeans. Partner it with black studded blazer, a fur and leather clutch, sexy ivory pump and a unique silver cuff bracelet.

Mary-Kate and My Sam

This is the Sam Edelman bootie that I've been drooling on that is the next best thing to the original Balenciaga as fabulously seen on Mary-Kate Olsen. I don't know If I will ever be able to justify buying a pair of Balenciaga's at my income, but I can definitely settle for Edelman's excellent imitations.

Korean Delight

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
After today, my roomate had a craving for some pork bone dinner and so we headed down to Korean town by Christie and Bathurst. We were then faced with a number of Korean restaurants and had no idea which one was a good place to eat. So I told her that we should pick one that had a lot of people in it. We ended up at this small restaurant and I don't know the name of it, because all of the restaurants have their names in Korean and none of us could read it, lol. I ordered the Kimchi Bi Bab (i think that's what it's called) which had fried rice, minced beef, kimchi and sunny side-up egg - it was yummy. But as yummy as mine was, my friend's food, I thought, was much better. She ordered the pork bone stew and it was delicious. I kept taking soup from her meal to spice mine up more . At least now I know what to order next time ;) If you want to check this place out, like I said, I don't know the name and forgot to take a photo of it, but it had an orange background in their sign. If you can't find this place, there are plenty of other Korean restaurants around of which I'm sure offers the same menu...maybe even better.

let it make u better in everyway

Photobucket
Question: why is it so hard to find friends who are genuinely caring and are truly supportive, who will overlook envy, jealousy and judgment, who will just have your best interests at heart and who will make every effort to make you feel special and loved?
i have no answer...

was that really me???

LMAO! Ok, I did this music video a year ago for an up and coming local artist called Project Crunch with the single called Mr. Vance. We did this music video at Tonic Nightclub on a Sunday morning and I can remember it clearly that day when I went to Starbucks at Queen and John, and the cashier asked me why I was up so early and where I was going. I told her that I was going to Tonic nightclub and she looked puzzled, because maybe she thought I was going to party first thing on a Sunday morning, but I clarified to her that I am going to shoot a music video.

Anyway, after months of searching for this video, I finally found it! As you can see, it's a low-budget video, but it was so much fun nonetheless.

You'll see me dancing up-close in the beginning, next I am behind the artist, but kinda blurry, you will see me in the audience bumpin to the beat, then i'm dancing with the artist near the end and another time with a sexy smurk - LOL!!!

After the video wrapped, the artist came to me and thanked me for being so energetic and professional throughout the shoot and that I really motivated and made it fun for him. Awww, bless his heart!

ENJOY!!!

Ryan V., you are a great friend first, and a rising brilliant photographer second! Your subjects are simply your tools, but it is your talent that truly shines through.
My friend Ryan and I found this location across the street from my apartment where an old factory is being renovated for a new loft residential and behind it was this empty lot filled with sand and rubble and walls with graffiti, which was apparently perfect for his concept of a rough background in-contrast with the femininity of the outfit.
