St. SmAshley's Day

Toronto weather has been amazing these past couple of days! 
My girls and I met up at Milestones for dinner to not only celebrate St. Patrick's day, but mainly to celebrate my good Irish friend , smAshley's, birthday :)  I ordered the beef sirloin (medium rare) with mashed potatoes and greens which was delish! 

We then walked around Yonge and Dundas to look for something green to wear for the occasion and I got myself a vintage-style high-waisted green shorts from American Apparel (which I didn't get to photograph).  We then headed to our usual spot on Thursday nights, Dazzling Lounge, for the Sake & Soul Event which was a blast - the wine/shots were great, the vibe was hype and the band was phenomenal.  Definitely a St. Patrick's Day to remember!

...and Ashley, you are the sweetest and most kind-hearted person I know and you deserve everything your humble heart desires.  I am very blessed to have you in my life and thank you for being a great friend to me.  The world can do with more of you, but I am glad you are in mine.

Brunch with Buddy

This meal is truly to die for!!!  Last Saturday, my girl Ashley and I met up for brunch at Insomnia where they serve the best home-made fries in the entire world!  I always get Eggs Charlotte which consists of smoked salmon, eggs benedict topped with hollandaise sauce over English muffin, served with fries and salad.   This used be a ritual amongst my friends and I on Saturday mornings where we would come here with a massive hang-over and an empty tummy from the previous night's debauchery.  Tsk, tsk....

A couple of days ago, I also purchased "The Ellements of Personal Style" which is a complilation of various female celebrities' personal style, insights into their homes and families and tips on how to be confident in your own skin.  Some of the women who were lucky enough to make it in the book are Erin Wasson, Padma Lakshmi, Diane von Furstenberg, Angelica Houston and Fergie, just to name a few.  I personally find this book very inspirational from the moment I opened it on the shelf.  It reminds me to stick to what I love, what works, to surround myself with beautiful and colourful items in my apartment and to not care about another's negative opinions.  I've had a lot of self-doubt lately about my career path, my own capabilites and my evolving personality so I need as much confidence boost and tummy butterflies as I can get and this book is definitely a great source.

Winter Blues

Hi everyone!

I do apologize for the lack of posts as there was a lack of inspiration and motivation lately.  It happens.  However, since Spring is upon us and Summer is just around the corner, I hope to soak up on some Vitamin D and attend to some weardrobe re-invention.
I thought I'd share a few photos with you from my recent trip to Dominican Republic.  Our resort was gorgeous and so was the weather for the the first few days, but turned crappy afterwards.  It was a much needed relaxation and food binge, not to mention the tan!  We didn't get to take too many photos as we were all too busy enjoying vacation, but my posts will get re-started again.
